What guitar amp head and guitar amb cabinet should i get?
looking to spend around 600-800 total for an amp head and an amp cabinet. does not have to be a combo but i do not know about the ohm stuff and so i do not know which ones would be compatible. any suggestions on good amp heads and a good cabinet that would be compatible with it is appreciated!

Hello there,
The ohm stuff is not all that difficult. All you need to know is that with a tube amp the ohm load rating of the amp head has to match the ohm load rating of the speaker cab. No impedance mismatch is really safe with tubes. With solid state, you can get by with an impedance mismatch. You can safely run a lower ohm rated amp head into a higher rated ohm cab. Never run a higher rated amp head into a lower rated speaker cab. So with solid state, an 8 ohm amp head is safe with either an 8 or 16 ohm speaker cab. That same 8 ohm amp head is not safe with a 4 ohm speaker cab. That is enough to get you by.
What type of music do you want the amp for? That is do you play soft rock or metal or something in between. How do you plan to use it? If you will be playing at home or just jamming with friends that will allow you to use certain amps. But those would not really work if you play to be gigging and playing in larger venues. Do you want amp modeling and built in effects? Or are you looking for a basic good sounding amp to use with your pedals? Are you up to the care and maintenance required of a tube amp? Or would you prefer something you can just flip the switch and start playing?
