Is there better guitar steel strings that I can buy that don't hurt so much on the fingers ? I just got a?
Gibson guitar for my 6 years old and his fingers keeps hurting too much. Or should I get a nylon string one. But people say it doesn't sound as good as the steel strings guitar. Is that true ?

All steel strings will hurt the fingers until the fingers toughen up. That is common with every one who learns to play.
I do not suggest swapping out the steel strings for nylon ones on your guitar (if that is what you are asking). That guitar is designed for certain tension from the strings. That is the flip side of the reason you cannot put steel strings on a guitar designed for nylon strings.
If you are instead asking if you should get a different guitar (one with nylon strings) for your 6 year old, I think that is a good idea. Steel strings are going to be tough on young fingers. Also, if you have a full sized guitar, a 6 year old may have some trouble playing it. There are smaller scale guitars designed for younger kids and I think those are a good idea. I started my 6 year old niece on a Hannah Montana acoustic. It has a much smaller neck and she can play that. I cannot play it, the strings are so close together my fingers cover too many strings. But for a young kid with small hands, I really think the small size guitar is the better way to go. Give them time to grow into the full sized guitar.
