How to get guitar reverb?

I want to play guitar with reverb through my amplifier but I cannot seem to find any reverb settings on my amplifier. I don't want to buy a reverb pedal either. Are there any ways to get reverb that I may not be realizing other than spending 50 or more dollars for a pedal? Like could I possibly use my computer as an amplifier and get software that will add reverb to it?

Depending on the quality of the sound card on your computer, you can use it exactly the same as an amplifier. If your sound card is no good, you'll have to upgrade and this will probably cost a lot more than buying a pedal.

To get the reverb effect, you would need some VST's or Plugins. There are lots of very good ones out there which emulate reverb and any other effect you could possibly think of. Here's a list of 15 free reverb effects....

The first one on that list - Ambience - is absolutely quality. I use it in my music all the time.

If you've never used VST's before, you might need a host programme for them. There's plenty of free hosting software out there too. This one is good for the purpose you need.
