What is the best style and type guitar for playing in sing-along and religious music & should it be a cutaway?
I am in the middle of trying to buy a guitar and many have crossed in front of my eyes. I am not sure whether or not it should be a cutaway or not. Also I am not sure what the best maker for it is? It is going to be used for Sing-Along Sessions at a Camp. What is the best for folk, sing along, campfire, and religious music? Please help me out. If there is someone that already owns one like this your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
You would really have to refine the genres. If you are talking about contemporary, the cutaway by far would be my choice. If you are talking classic, definitely the look of a real acoustic is appropriate, but it really doesn't matter. If you play up the neck, then why sacrifice that ability for looks? It all depends on your budget. You could get an Ovation with a cut-away and it would be great.
