Using Cut Out Standees Instead Of Pop Up Banner Stands for Advertising

When many businesses consider the production of a free-standing display then the first product that is offered by the supplier is a banner stand. Banner stands are the traditional way of creating a portable marketing display thanks to the relatively low cost and ease of portability.

Unfortunately, it is the success and great popularity of the banner stand which sometimes means that they are overlooked in favour of more innovative types of display stand which are capable of grabbing the customers attention more so than a relatively common roller banner which houses a basic rectangular print.

Children In Need are one of the highest profile charities in the UK, raising many Millions of Pounds each year for worthwhile causes through nationwide events and a television appeal. In 2010, a series of free-standing cut-out standees were manufactured and used on display at BBC Television Centre prior to the event and at various locations during the filming of the event.

The utlisation of shaped cut-outs when compared to standard banner stand display is quite noticeable and the standees were uses to great effect to raise awareness and assist funraising for the charity.

For those interested in cut-out standees in place of roller banners, the costs are broadly similar with a 6' tall x 3' wide standee being available for around the same cost. In terms of the material the standee if printed onto, there is a variety of choice that can be tailored to the environment in which the display stand is to be positioned. For example, the Pudsey standees seen in this example were manufactured using a fire rated, foam centred board which made then extremely lightweight in order to comply with stringent safety requirements at the venue concerned. Other standees were produced using a more rigid PVC Foamex board which is capable of undergoing transport to and from events without being so susceptible to damage caused by occasional knocks and bumps.

If you are considering using a standee for your event, exhibition, trade show or retail display then it is worth selecting an image which will provide a smooth, slowing cutting path. It is worthwhile avoiding cutting-around very small objects such as fingers which can be broken-off when the standee is transported.

TV Stands - Buying Guide

So what you look for when buying a TV stand? Well, that may vary accordingly, as some go for style factor others look for strength and durability and still others check out ventilation and ability to accommodate other devices along with. As a matter of fact there are various factors which determine purchasing TV stands.

Taste changes with time. Well, to the extent of buying TV stands. Earlier, TV stands are intended to accommodate those CRT so as to impart style statement and hide bulky televisions with it. But these days we are getting more used to flat screen televisions like LCD, LED and Plasma which are far stylish and fashionable than previous televisions. They impose style statement in the room in which they are kept. And that is enhanced more with the usage of exquisite TV stand. Now we want to show off the latest technologies and gadgets more to our guest without hiding them.

However, it's true that cabinets used for CRTs secure the devices well. Even they can be multipurpose as one can use those even for LCD or Plasma TV because they are light in weight.

Flat screen television stands are intelligently designed to showcase the latest technology. The TV stands have ability to withstand weight of the TV to balance it well. Some prefer to mount TV onto the walls using brackets, but it involves a great deal of hassles.

When you are shopping for rear projection TV stand, make sure the shelf is bigger enough to accommodate the TV, as they have longer back portion compared to LCD or Plasma. The stands come with various shelves to adjust your DVD player and speaker.

Check out if the stands are fitted with casters to allow them to move from one place to another.

While buying check out whether the stand will be able to support your TV or not. You can go through the weight bearing capacity in the manual.

Exposed cords and cables are the problem while installing TV to the stand, so make sure you invest in stand that is able to hide those.

It's tough to decide from among various stand types available in the market. So before buying, ask yourself what is it that you want more importantly for your TV? Is it saving floor space, display the TV or organize devices and DVDs?

Shelving options are available in market for the heavier Plasma TVs. Even some stands come up with swivel technology for a better viewing experience so that you can enjoy viewing experience from different angles. LCDs are light, but they look best when placed in a cabinet.

If you know the purpose well, you will surely grab the best. This applies to TV stands too. Whether it's your CRT or LCD choosing right stand is not tough at all. It's often recommended not to buy TV stands during purchase of a TV, but give yourself time to assess what you need for future, and then buy it separately.

Vampire Weekend

It would take a lot for Vampire Weekend's debut to rise above the stench of privileged hype that surrounds it. A bunch of kids who formed the band in their Columbia dorm room borrow wholesale from Afrobeat and angular '80s stuff, and they quickly become an online buzz band before releasing a single album? Thankfully the record, and the band, are great fun: playful, pop-wise, and smart enough to pu...
