Guitar Hero definitively one-ups Rock Band in one respect
Guitar Hero definitively one-ups Rock Band in one respect -- avatar customization. Going beyond just hairstyles and costume changes, you can alter everything from the size of your skull to the angle of your chin. It's hard, at first, to make a character that doesn't look hideously deformed, but with a little tweaking, you can make impressive semblances of almost anyone. You can even choose the dances your character does at the beginning and end of a song, though you can't make your own choreography. All of this strengthens the connection to your avatar, but my favorite part is the instrument customization. Body, colors, strings, heads -- you can alter every minute layer of your instrument, making the entire presentation that much more personal.
When Activision picked up RedOctane a couple years back and snuggly tucked the Guitar Hero license under its belt, the publisher wasn't planning on letting its investment go to waste. After original developer Harmonix was picked up by MTV Games and went on to create Rock Band, the torch was passed to Neversoft, the folks behind the oh-so-many Tony Hawk titles. The studio's first take on the franchise was last year's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, which was followed up earlier this year with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, a side project of sorts for the series (Guitar Hero: Metallica is also on the...
It's time to get the band back together! The Guitar Hero series returns with 86 master-recording tracks, including hits by Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, and Metallica. Melt faces on the guitar controller, kick it on the six-piece drum kit, and sing your heart out on the mic. When you're not performing, create your own songs in the studio mode and share them with other players through GH Tunes. Check back later for our review!

What should I wear to an interview for work experience doing a creative arty job?
I'm going to an interview for work experience tomorrow in a company that wants people to work on flash animations. What I was thinking of wearing were some black casual trousers and a white top with a skull and guitar motif (quite small and not too in your face) on it.
Is this appropriate should I just wear a plain white t-shirt? Any help is much appreciated.
Also I'm female, so what would be appropriate for that.
Don't wear a white top with a skull on it, not just because it's an interview but just in general is a horrible fashion statement.
Be safe. Wear black trousers, shirt, black tie. So you're still going for the indie goth look but wearing suitable attire.

Since its breakthrough album, 1993's BLACK SUNDAY, its drug and gun-related lyrics have helped it maintain a hardcore fan base. SKULL & BONES is split into two separate CDs, the "Skull" disc being the dedicated rap segment, with "Bones" devoted to rock.Synthesized orchestral strings and kick drum propel B-Real's distinct nasal rap on "(Rap) Superstar," which lays bare the pitfalls awaiting artists who attain their dreams and make it big in the music industry. B-Real and Sen Dog's lyrical skills are on display throughout this set, notably on the rebellious, attitude-driven "What U Want From Me." The second disc features members of Fear Factory, Rage Against The Machine, Downset, and SX10, with Cypress' Bobo on drums. The group's quick raps flow over a monstrous sound that puts most rap pretenders to shame. "Get Out Of My Head" is a speedy, riffing number with a great hook, while "Dust" pays homage to the Anthrax/Public Enemy collaboration of a decade ago. SKULL & BONES 2 CD set will satisfy longtime Cypress fans while also appealing to a new metal audience. |

Rock and war
The night of ruins rolls over
The golden dawn illuminates the spoils of war.
My village was raided
By bands of armed militia_
Life will never be the same again
Chaos reigned
‘Cos silence and symmetry
Were not there
Long jagged wave trains
Disturbs the space:
Gun blasts closely followed by loud cries
Jerking rifles followed by crumbling lives
Among the sights and sounds
I couldn't tell which one
Was my mother Or my sister
Perhaps, a geologist
Cannot Pick a gem
From hot crimson lava
And I mourn
For the rock_
A symbol for my loved ones_
Melts
It is the aftermath of the war
My life will never be the same again.
I am called soldier boy
But I call myself music box.
Khaki shorts underneath
A twofold cord around my head
As if my skull would blow apart
Fingers clutch the shaft of a rifle
Veins bulge across scarred arms
Adhering to skin
Like strings adhering to the fret
Of an electric guitar
Eardrums strained
By deafening blasts of land mines
And thunderous roars
From machine guns
Its membrane collapses
Into a myriad of thin
And taut parallel cords
The ear bones evolve into frets;
The Eustachian tube becomes the sounding board
Acoustic nerve resolves to interpret
Every impulse within
The realm of sound
To music of high pitch, blistering intensity
Blending rhythm and instantaneous duration
Altogether Psyche awakens to the reality
In which noises don't exist
The stage is set:
I and the members of my band
Are living the dream
With our inspiring performance
We illuminate the fans
And they radiate like embers
Beside me is the techno queen
She puts up the mix
And the locals ascend on cloud nine
Beside her is the guitarist
He strings the thrilling piece
And the crowd ignites
I blasted the vocals,
And rolled the chime
This emerged from my being
Like a volcano
It had an extraordinary quality
A strong pitch and a sharp sting
…the audience was riveted
But this is a dream
Superimposed onto my reality
It disperses in the sun_
…the drummer throws his final strike
The atmosphere of gun blasts
Surrounds the battle field …
Among my valiant comrades
My neck cranes forward
Arm strokes rifle _
finger plucks trigger_
The last militant crumbles
Another high-pitched note erupts into the air
To accompany the symphony...
Behind us
The kings men sing the war song:
The seven musketeers… Ai! Ai!!
They're moving once again… Ai! Ai!!
It's not as was before…Ai! Ai!!
They're giving you some more… Ai! Ai!!
Their poise will never end….. Ai! Ai!!
The victory cloud descends…Ai! Ai!!
Once, these were spoils of war……..Ai! Ai!!
…the ravaged in Darfur….Ai! Ai!!
…………………………………………………….
It's the aftermath of the victory...
Life will never be the same again
I was once called soldier boy
I earned my freedom
Because I lived up to that name
But now and always
I shall be called music box
it was what I wanted to be
When I was free…

Juju Music $9.82 Quite possibly the most beautiful and influential West African record ever released internationally, Juju Music remains a revelation.
