Polish for silver plated flute?
Left my silver plated flute out of the case the other day and noticed that it is now covered in black spots. Whats the best to use so that I don't strip the plating? (Australian brand names only please)
Silver cloth that is sold in a fabric store is not meant to clean silver. Silver cloth is a cloth to make pouches to store your sterling pieces once they are clean to keep them clean and shiny. The silver cloth does not allow the air to tarnish what is stored in the pouch. People commonly mistake silver cloth as the cloth which cleans silver, it is not.

Tooth paste, which is safe, non toxic, and in your house right now (I hope!!) will do the job. I use toothpaste on my jewelry and for quick clean ups on my silver place settings and what not. The only thing you have to be careful of when using toothpaste as a silver cleaner, especially with jewelry, is to be absolutely certain you wash off all of the paste in the nooks and crannies or it will dry rock hard and you'lll have to soak it off.
