I've been watching the cosby show on retro night lately and I'm wondering about the lapel pin he wears in every shot. If he's wearing a coat it's on the coat, if he's wearing a jacket or just a sweater it's there too. I can't make it out but it looks like a clover or the letters SP. What's it for?
The "SD" worn on the pin during the 1990-91 (7th) season was in honor of Bill Cosby's good friend, Sammy Davis, Jr, who passed away in 1989. Davis, Jr. appeared in a Season 5 episode as an illiterate grandfather whose granddaughter was expecting a baby soon.
