It isn't feedback as one poster suggested. Hendrix was influenced by the Chicago guitarist "Terry Kath". He saw one of his shows and admittedly said. I never taught I could see a better guitarist than myself and Terry Kath was doing all the stuff of Hendirx.
What Hendrix did use well was his Wah-Wah and the fact that he tuned his guitar differently which accounted for the odd-sounding licks. When you use the same fingering. It never sounded the same until one discovered that he payed a lot with his tuning. That is what he brought as well as his electrifying effects in his leads.
